WHY CHOOSE ME?
I qualified in Personal Training in 2022, with the view to only work with chronic pain clients or those rehabbing from injury.
However, as I started to spend more time on the gym floor, and also having coaches/PTs for my own training. I realised how under supported some women and the older clients were.
Especially women, that were having their hormonal cycle disregarded as having no impact on their training, or older clients who were given 2kg dumbbells and never allowed to progress from this.
I made it a focus point in my continual professional development to gain as much knowledge around these subjects as possible, such as doing my level 3 Pre and Postnatal qualification plus other short courses in hormonal impacts, menopause and training older adults.
WORKING WITH WOMEN
Women are not small men, and therefore should not be trained as if they are.
Although there is no specific issue following training designed for men, a tailored approach that takes into account various stages of life, such as Pre/Post natal or Peri/Post menopausal and the physiological/hormonal changes that occur with it will often yield better outcomes and result in more confident clients that understand why some weeks of training may feel vastly different to others.
By me having a good understanding of and addressing these factors, I can help you achieve your fitness goals whichever stage you are at.
WORKING WITH THE OLDER CLIENT
Strength training is highly beneficial for the older client, as it helps maintain muscle mass, increase bone density, improve balance and enhance overall functional ability, reducing the risk of falls or injury.
Although I run Senior classes, I am also able to offer 1 to 1 sessions.
Sessions are customised to be safe and effective, by being tailored to your individual fitness level, whilst also taking into consideration any health conditions or injuries you have may have.
By guiding proper form and gradually increasing resistance, I can help you to build strength, boost your confidence and improve quality of life.
INJURY / POST SURGICAL REHABILITATION OR CHRONIC PAIN CONDITIONS
Strength Training with chronic pain or rehabbing from injury can be challenging, and often any old fitness plan off the internet will not be effective for you.
For chronic pain, strength training can be an effective way to improve overall well being and manage symptoms when done correctly under guidance. It can help increase muscle strength, enhance joint stability and reduce pain symptoms over time.
For injury or post surgical rehabilitation, working with a knowledgeable trainer can be extremely beneficial. I can offer customized sessions that can help support healing, rebuild strength and enhance mobility. I can collaborate with your other care providers to create safe, tailored work outs that address your specific limitations and gradually increase intensity as recovery progresses. This personalised approach ensures exercises are done correctly, with the correct load, promoting proper technique and reducing the risk of reinjury.
